A Tale of a Whale Named Snow

Glacier Bay National Park is home to the largest humpback whale skeleton on display in the United States, reconstructed from a whale affectionately nicknamed “Snow” by biologists. This children’s book tells a fictionalized story of Snow’s life, following her journey from Alaska to Hawaii and back as she teaches her calf, Snowflake, everything he needs to know about being a whale. Join them as they encounter killer whales, flying fish, and other fascinating marine life. The inspiration for A Tale of a Whale Named Snow came from an Alaskan newspaper article about a whale known locally as Snow, who was tragically struck by a cruise ship in Glacier Bay. The story highlights how the local community came together to recover and reconstruct her skeleton, creating a lasting monument to her memory.

Willey the Whale that Could Not Sing

Willey the Whale That Could Not Sing was written to raise the readers awareness that even in the depths of the ocean life isn’t always what we would like it to be.

In the book although Willey wasn’t able to sing, he was able to find new friends who accepted him the way he was, and helped him solve his problem.
